JUNE 8TH 2005, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEX!!!!!
There is a new message from Alex sent to The Loft, 19th May, 2005. here it is.............. Hey guys:) I know things have been pretty quiet from me, since I’ve been busy creating new music and other great stuff…so, I thought I’d dig through my past and give you all a treat while you wait! Well, a few treats, to be exact. The first one that you’re getting now is the very first music video I ever did for a song called “Dormant Prayer”. My friend Jethro and I wrote the song and recorded the video ourselves over 10 years ago! Our duo group was called “Maybe Solitude”. This thing is soooo funny!!! I’m about 12 years old in it, but totally acting it up like I would now. I’m so glad Jethro dug this video up for us all; it’s really an important piece of my history. Now remember, I was only 12, and this song and video is about being an inmate on death row, on the way to being executed! What was going on in my tiny little brain?! I don’t know. I guess its still pretty tiny…Uh, anyway, I hope you all enjoy it! There will be more treats on the way to keep you busy like me! The band and I are really looking forward to these two shows in June. I’ve taken all your requests for a set list in consideration and it will definitely end up being a loooong show! Hey, and I get to write a tour diary…granted it will only be for two days. 12th April, 2005 Latest news from Alex!..(posted in The Loft) Hello all Calling fans!!! Although things have seemed quiet from me, there is A LOT in the works and I have been crazy busy! I’ve been working on amazing new music, doing performances on TV shows that will soon be aired, modeling for top magazines, and acting, yes acting! I also have some good news for US fans! The Calling will be doing two shows in the beginning of June!!! One in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Silverton Casino on June 3rd, and another at the Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival in Temecula, California on June 4th. The band and I are extremely excited to play and hope Calling fans from all over the country will try to make it to these shows! We will be playing all the favorites of course, but I would like to make this extra special by having all the fans of The Loft vote on what songs we should play, so you all hear exactly what you want! If you’re not a member of The Loft, now is the time to become one! I hope everyone is doing well and I’ll see you soon! All the love… Alex Band

Sorry I haven’t been in here to give you an update lately, but things have been crazy and I have been extremely busy writing some awesome new music! This record is winding down now and we have all done a great job and worked really hard on it, so a big thank you to everyone! I’m sorry to say that there will be no more touring on this record as of now:( I am mostly sorry to our American fans who never really got a proper chance to see me perform here in the states with the whole band…But don’t fret! I will be out again soon enough with new material! I’ll keep you all posted on what is happening in the weeks to come. I mostly just wanted to say Happy Valentine’s Day and thank you, thank you, thank you, for all your continued support, hard work and love…I will never stop making music for you all as long as you still want it! You guys are the best. All the love…

July 17th..Amazing competition on Video Hits today!!!! The prize is to go to Japan for 4 nights, watch The Calling live, attend media interviews, spend time with the band as well as have spending money, digital camera, travel set, and 2 ipods AMAZING!!!!! July 16th..keep a look out for a competition on Video Hits tomorrow (Saturday 17th) for The Calling. (Channel 10, 9-12) and now's a good time to request "Our Lives" on your local radio stations! ...the more it's requested, the more it's played July 12th..The Calling performed at Party in the Park London - the website has a video of the performance. June 24th.. latest news is that the release date for the CD TWO has been put back to August 9th. Check out the BMG Australia website (www.bmg.com.au)- they have said that Our Lives is added to most CHR radio stations across the country and is strongly supported by MTV and Video Hits! TWO will be supported by radio and magazines, June 19th.. 'Our Lives' was shown just before 6.30 on Rage today! There is a competition on the So Fresh website to win the new Calling album, two tripods, a t-shirt and the new single! You have to asnwer in 25 words or less 'What is your Calling in life?' Also they had 'Our Lives' for a ringtone to add to your phone! You must check with the person who owns the phone first as it costs three dollars! June 14th.. Latest news about the band is that Aaron has decided not to tour right now, as he has a lot of work to do, writing and producing. Alex and Aaron are completely unified with this decision and Aaron is still the other half of The Calling. They have put together a new touring band and The Calling are really excited to start their new tour!
June 8th..Happy Birthday Alex!..... Alex sent a big thankyou to aussie fans for their birthday messages!!! June 2nd.. the fat 30.. played Our Lives at number 8 tonight! They played an interview where Aaron talked a bit about his dogs June 1st.. The fat30 played Our Lives at number 17! Aaron was interviewed about playing drums June

21st February.. latest news from The Loft is that the official word on release dates in the U.S are as follows: single 'Our Lives' - March 28th, and CD, 'Two' - June 8th! We will let you know Australian
and European release dates, as soon as we know.
February January 25th.. Alex performed 'Our Lives' at the NRJ Radio Awards show in Sweden today January 17th.. Alex was interviewed on the Rick Dees Radio show which played around Australia (Relatively old interview, about WDY+I) You can listen to Rick Dees on 99.5 Star and 105.3FM (Brisbane) in Australia. It's been a wonderful Calling year, and I know that the new year will bring some great new music our way!! December 30th Great news!! The new album from The Calling will be called "TWO". The single is due to come out February in ALL countries and the album is due to come out end of March all over the world (America, first week of April). The Calling will then begin touring late January in Europe for a promotional tour and work their way around the globe!! After that, they will be doing a tour in the U.S !!December 26th.. I've updated my review from April 2002, check 'Review' on the sidebar December 17th.. Thanks to those of you who emailed me to let me know that 'Wherever You Will Go' plays during the new movie 'Love Actually'! (Thanks Sarah and Claire!) December 10th.. The latest news from Aaron and Alex includes the following: "Alex and I want to let you know what is happening these days. Life could not be more exciting! After returning from an incredible tour of Brazil and Panama, finishing the new record has been amazing and we can't wait until you all hear it! This record means so much to us, we have worked so hard and I know everyone will feel it. Led by the famous Clive Davis and Co. we have a restructured record label behind us and are now planning for the upcoming success. Also "Wherever You Will Go" will be featured in the new Hugh Grant movie "Love Actually", and we are finalizing plans to record a song for another upcoming film early next year!Log on to The Loft for further news and for 'In The Studio' videos...
