They had a hit with WHEREVER YOU WILL GO. And fingers crossed they'll be back here by the end of the year. B caught up with singer Alex Band.
Are you enjoying the tour?
Alex: Oh yeah! We've just been to Asia and I've eaten pig's feet, sushi, raw meat- a lot of weird sh!t! It's a great experience, although I miss my family, my cats and my girlfriend.
Any weird obsessions?
Alex: I love cats. I have two - one all black and fat, He has six toes on one paw, so I call him Six.The other one is all white. I think they're gay because they're always getting on each other.
And passions?
Alex: I love to drive. I'm a big car nut. I have a BMW M Coup'e and a Ducati motorcycle. I really love Italian bikes and cars. I'm a huge Ferrari freak.
What was it like growing up in Hollywood?
Well, there were 100 million bands and places to play, lots of pretentious people and it was hard to get a following. Our parents wouldn't even come to see us play!
Worst gig?
We were playing in front of 3000 people and I'd forgotten to zip up my fly. Everone was laughing and yelling and I'm like 'Yeah, rock on!' Then someone in the audience held up a sign that I couldn't read. I saw it on the ground later. It said, 'bad day not to wear underwear.' That was really embarrassing!
